About
Great production is more than clean audio. It is knowing what the song needs, what the artist is trying to say, and how to make every decision serve both.
I am Matt Poole Butler, a music producer and recording engineer based at EMP Studios in Fort Worth. My work spans rock, metal, hip-hop, alternative music, and projects that refuse to fit neatly inside one genre.
I work best with artists who care deeply about the result—whether that means building a record from the ground up, capturing a great live band, or pushing a nearly finished project across the line.
“A great record is an artist’s truth made impossible to ignore.” — Matt Poole Butler
Capabilities
Flexible enough for a focused session. Experienced enough to guide the full record.
Song direction, arrangement, pre-production, instrumentation, performance coaching, and the hard decisions that turn demos into records.
High-impact tracking for vocals, bands, and overdubs with a focus on capturing performances that feel alive—not merely technically correct.
Depth, weight, clarity, translation, and competitive level while protecting the dynamics and personality that make the record worth hearing.
Custom projects
For production, singles, EPs, albums, artist development, mixing, mastering, or any record that needs a custom plan. I review the music, goals, timeline, and budget before confirming fit and preparing a written estimate.
Focused studio time
For vocals, overdubs, live tracking, editing, or other straightforward studio work. Sessions start at $150 for a two-hour minimum, with three-hour and extended options available through Square.
Selected Work
Twelve selected production, recording, songwriting, and artist development credits. Hear a focused 30-second excerpt from each record without leaving the page.

The strongest proof is how the artist felt about both the process and the finished record.
“This is a very special track to me because it is out of my comfort zone, and Matt was nothing short of a blessing when it came to creating this song. He was patient and was willing to do whatever it takes to get this song to meet the expectations I had for it. The song turned out beautiful and I was not disappointed one bit. Matt truly is one of one.”
